SAO PAULO - Sales in the wholesale sector and distributor grew 0.44% in nominal terms in 2015 compared to the previous year, according to a survey by the Brazilian Wholesalers and Distributors Association (ABAD), calculated by the Institute of Directors (FIA). The result was in line with the company's expectations, stagnation in nominal terms.
In December, the nominal result was an increase of 9.82% in sales of the wholesale sector compared to the same month of 2014, according to Abad.
Already in real terms, the result of the year was a decrease of 7.94% compared to 2014. In December, the actual decline was 0.77% compared to the same month last year. The Abad considers, however, that in the sector of industry price transfers occur at predetermined periods throughout the year, while the transfers of possible increases in the prices of products to customers are not made immediately.
