Saudi Prince to Hunt Endangered Bird

Days after the Pak pk Supreme Court lifted a ban on hunting the endangered Houbara bustard, Prince Fahad bin Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud has arrived in Pakistan’s 🇵🇰 Balochistan province to hunt it.

Prince Fahad visits Dalbandin every year to hunt the endangered species in Dec & Jan, as its meat is considered to be an aphrodisiac and prized by Arab sheikhs. The ban was issued on 20 Aug last year, but lifted on 22 Jan, lasting just 6 months. The ban was challenged by federal and provincial governments in Oct saying that sustainable hunting should be allowed.

Globally, about 50,000 to 1 lakh Houbara bustard exist and it is declared endangered by the International Union🌐 for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
