Leicester City have surprised many this season due to their fantastic results so far. Not only have they been able to beat teams like Manchester City and Liverpool, but they have kept the momentum going and are currently sat at the top of the pile in the Premier League.
During the last three games, Leicester have faced tough opposition. In the last game they fell to a late goal at the Emirates, resulting in a 2-1 defeat, in a game that they took the lead through a Jamie Vardy penalty. Before this result, Leicester managed to overcome a Manchester City team away from home, winning that game impressively, 3-1. They also had a 2-0 home victory against Liverpool just before that.
In my opinion, I believe that Leicester have the squad, mentally and physically to cope with the remaining games and win the league (if players remain injury-free). Others may disagree, saying that it is inevitable that they will fall at the final hurdle, or will suddenly dip in form and start losing games. Ask yourself one question, with Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez playing so well, consistently all season, do you really expect that to change so late in the season?
Jamie Vardy is currently Leicester City's, and the Premier Leagues top scorer with 19 goals. Riyad Mahrez currently has an impressive 14 goals so far, along with 10 assists. Are these the deadly-duo of the Premier League this season? I think so.
While their stats are fantastic, Leicester City gave conceded the most goals out of the top five teams this season (29), with Tottenham Hotspur currently showing off the better defence inside the top five, having only conceded 20. It seems Leicester City are confident going into games, believing they can outscore any opponent, and rightly so! So far, they have scored 48 goals this season, averaging just short of two goals per game.
Leicester City go up against Norwich City at home in the next round of Premier League fixtures, and I don't think anyone will see anything other than a Leicester win.
Leicester currently have a 2 point advantage over second place Tottenham Hotspur, and I don't see that lead being surrendered just yet.
