Pep Guardiola is a manager with a fantastic record although 2 out of the 3 teams he has managed 2 of themhave beenthe best teams in European Club football. It hasn't always been so straight forward though I see his terms at Barcelona and Bayern Munich completely different.
The Barcelona first team was a great success story where he managed to manage to change the team froman agingsquadto a team model oftotal football 4-3-3 formations.Hepushed out Ronaldhinio and Decoand the main influnces became Inesta and Xavi running the midfield with Busquets eventuallybecoming making the deep rolehis own. It was also this season Messi became an out and out central attacking player which was largely down to the fact Guardiola put him through the middle as a false number nine. By doing all that hechanged the mentality of Barcelona they went from being an ill disciplined team with fat players like Ronaldhinio to being a team of like robots in a way with the exception of Ibrahimović and Eto who soon left the club after the first season, some of the best football ever was played under Guardiola's Barcelona and a lot of trophies were won.
As for the Baryern Munich experience Icurrently find that a failure I can't say he has improved the team if anything I think theyhave gonebackwards under Pep. Before he was there Jupp Heynckes put together a very powerful direct team who were great to watch very German like football. where as when Pep came in his job was too add to that and make them more consistent winning trophies domestically and in Europe which he has obviously achieved domestically but in Europe has fallenwoefully short. instead ofbuilding on from what wasleft to him he scrapped it and had his own game plan similar to that of what he had at Barcelona he scrapped Bayern's direct powerful gameand introduced the tiki taka which did not suit the teamandwas even trying different players in the false nine role which obviously didn't work which very much set them back. Although heshowed a leopard can change his spotsand brought inRobert Lewandonski who in my view is currently the bestnumber ninein the world.
If Pep wants to come here to manage in England he can't do tiki taka hewill have to completely change his game planif he is too be a successhere maybe 10 years agoyou could had got by with that type of football in the Premier league but not anymore far too strong. Just look at Van Gaal'sManchester United that proves possession type of football that Pep likes will be hard. If he wants to hit the ground running and start winning form the word go then Manchester City orArsenalwould be a great fit for him, but if he wants to build a team then Manchester United or Chelsea would be an ideal fit.
If he can succeed with an English team and improve them greatly he will be firmly up there with the best of all time, don't rule him out the England job too I have a cheeky beton him landing that one myself.
